Homeopathy Treatment for Herpes Simplex

Herpes Simplex Treatment in Homeopathy:

Herpes as a term implies a group of vesicles(fluid filled eruptions) on a reddish area of skin due to inflammation. The vesicles appear like a bunch of grapes.

The two main herpetic conditions are Herpes simplex and Herpes zoster.

Causes of Herpes simplex:

Herpes simplex is a disease of the skin caused from a viral attack. The virus,Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) is responsible for the development of Herpes simplex . There are two distinct types of herpes simplex viruses : HSV-1 and HSV-2. Out of the two, HSV-2 is the reason for genital herpes simplex. And all the other clinical varities of herpes simplex are due to HSV-1.

The virus of herpes is present everywhere,it is more prevalent in the temperate climate and cold weather.

Herpes simplex occurs mostly after a stress, a psychogenic stress or an injury, fevers such as malaria, pneumonia, meningitis. It is also rampant after prolonged general illness, debility, etc.

Symptoms of Herpes Simplex:

As a disease, there is a journey of the development of Herpes simplex in a patient. It starts with a sensation of burning and/or itching after an exposure to cold weather or sun , etc. Then, reddish eruptions(macules) appear. Upon this reddish inflammatory base, vesicles develop rapidly. The vesicles are pinhead sized ,form in groups about pinhead size and superficially present. In later stages, the content of the vesicles become opaque. They may rupture and become crusted or they might dry up to leave faint , reddish stains.

The above process of the herpes simplex development takes about 7 to 14 days. There is no scarring of the herpes simplex lesions unless a secondary infection occurs in them. And sometimes, hyperpigmentation(darkening of the area) or depigmentation ( lightening of the area) may happen.

Apart from the common herpes simplex affections of the skin, HSV-1 may also attack other parts of the body in three ways which are :

  • Gingivo-stomatitis ( Gums and tongue involved ) or Vulvo-vaginitis ( female genitalia involved ) or kerato-conjunctivitis ( eyes are involved ) . In such a case, it is associated with fever, weakness , malaise and regional lymphadenopathy( involvement of the lymph glands of nearby region ).
  • Herpetic whitlow , a condition in which painful vesicles are formed around the nailfold. The vesicles and pustular eruptions may also be formed. It is associated with regional lympadenopathy .
  • Eczema herpeticum type or Kaposi’s varicelliform eruption.

Herpes simplex should be differentiated from Herpes zoster, Syhilitic chancre, Scabies of the penis, lichen planus and any drug reactions.

What if ignore?/Where the disease may lead the patient to?

Herpes simplex is a result of virus attack and it takes 7 to 14 days for the lesions to develop completely and wade off. Only when there is secondary infection in the vesicles, scarring of the skin at the site occurs. In other cases, hyperpigmentation or depigmentation can also occur. Most important factor is to prevent recurrence of the herpes. The recurrence can be avoided by complete homeopathy treatment, maintaining proper personal hygeine and taking measures to boost the immunity.

Why one can go for Homeopathy Treatment?

Herpes simplex is caused due to virus attacking the person whenever there is decrease in the immunity levels. Homeopathic treatment works on the philosophy of strengthening the immune system by acting deep into the body’s mechanism. The preparation of homeopathic medicines to treat Herpes simplex is through a process of dynamisation which bring equilibrium in the disturbed cells of the body so as to fight HSV virus attack.

Frequently Asked Questions

Recurrencance of Herpes does occur in relapsing type of herpex simples. It often occurs on the same site, most commonly perioral(around the mouth) genitalia. The recurrence is due low resistance at the site of the herpes lesions and they are triggered by emotional stress, exposure to cold or sun and also because of poor personal hygeine.

Erythema multiforme may be a complication of Herpes simplex at times. Scarring of the skin at the site of herpes simplex can be another effect if secondary infection occurs in the lesions.

When the HSV-2 attacks the individual , it leads to herpes simplex lesions on the genitalia, it is called Herpes progenitalia. The virus is transmitted sexually. The eruptions in female genitalia are on the sites of labia, vaginal wall and cervix. In males, the lesions are on the glans, body of the penis or prepuce. Distinctly, Genital herpectic lesions are painful and they rupture causin erosions in a circinate pattern. Because of the involvement of genitalia, there may be constitutional upset in the individuals affected by Herpes simplex on genitals.

Herpes on genitalia can recur again. The common predisposing factors for recurrent genital herpes are phimosis ( penis infection ),discharge per vaginum, lack of proper personal hygeine.

Any individual should take care of their health in every means. They should get treated for any kind of chronic illness. A virus attacks in most of the conditions wherein immunity is low. You can otherwise prevent herpes on genitalia by maintaining proper personal hygeine. Since transmission is by sexual interaction, sex with strangers should be avoided and use of condom must be on mind.

Herpes simplex affects adults rarely but common in infants and children. Gingivo-stomatitis due to Herpes simplex is called Buccal herpes. It involves mucous membrane of the palate, cheeks and tongue. The infants and children suffering from herpes in the mouth become irritable, weak and noisy. The vesicles in the mouth get eroded. The child feels pain all the time.
